MENTAL HEALTH APPROACH with PRIMARY CARE COLLABORATION

Collaborative mental health care describes a range of models of practice in which consumers, their families and caregivers, together with health care providers from a variety of primary health care and mental health settings each with different experience, training, knowledge and expertise work together to promote cost effective patient care and efficient patient outcomes.

Behavioral Collaborative Care Solutions (BCCS).

Experience and Benefiel Factors.

BCCS has been implementing mental health services in collaboration with primary care providers within the primary care facilities for almost a decade.  Our mental health team of providers in Florida is composed of 30 providers this includes (Psychiatrist, Certified Psychiatric Nurse practioner , Ph. D's and Mental Health counselors and continue to growth with the constant mental health demand.  We have two offices located in Florida.  Our central office is located in South Florida (Miami) area, the other location is in Tampa.  We currently provide and collaborate with over 30 primary care locations, thru out Florida.  In addition to these locations, we also provide telehealth services and are currently in the process of extending our Mental Health Services to Texas, as well as, internationally. Our approach enables patients to receive care under one common facility.  This collaborative approach benefits patients overcome many obstacles in receiving the mental health services they usually need immediately.  Both Patients, and their family feel at ease when being in a familiar, safe and comfortable atmosphere they also find a relief knowing that both their primary care and mental health providers are collaborating for the best patient care and outcome.

Due to the shortage and quality of mental health providers nationwide, patients feel overwhelmed and never receive the help they truely need.  This collaboration eliminates those feelings. This approach of integrating mental health care in the primary care location has shown to be one of the best ways to lower utilization and cost. The collaborative care model has been shown to improve outcomes for patients with mental health conditions, including reductions in symptoms, improved quality of life, and decreased risk of hospitalization.

Our providers focus on maintaining patients stable by educating them on psychotropic medications benefits and long-term effects.  We also encourage patients to best benefit from any psychotropic treatment is to seek psychotherapy help in addition to their treatment plan.  The combination of both medication and psychotherapy has and is currently helping thousands of our patients live a healthy and stable lifestyle.  We encourage all our patients to contact us immediately, if and when they have no life threating or suicidal ideation.   This will reduce and eliminates, when possible, unnecessary visits to emergency room visits.  Our office can accommodate any patient with an in-office or telehealth visit the same day and even minutes if a crisis were to arise.
